Welcome to a page of information on my cross stitch projects. On this site you will find info and photos (hopefully) of my current and past stitching projects. It will only be updated periodically as I don’t have much time to stitch anymore, but might be of interest, particularly if I’m working on something for you!
My current major project is called Noah’s Submarine from a painting by the artist Stewart Moskowitz. This is what it should look like when finished.
It is a gift for Alison and James, my sister - and brother - in - law. I hope to keep it the most updated of all of them. I haven't had a whole lot of stitching time lately, but it's coming! This is my progress as of Nov. 6, 2005. Nine birds and a tiger left on this page, then on to the last one!
This photo was taken August 28, 2005. I'm now three quarters finished! There's a six inch ruler in the middle of it for size comparison. I'm also including a close up photo of the pelican from the upper right of the project. I've had some questions about the amount of time it takes to do a project like this. Just as an example, this little pelican took just short of two hours to complete including the backstitching. Now look at the size of the thing again!
This photo was taken June 5, 2005. I've gotten a lot of work done lately and you can actually see the full size of the piece now. I've gotten the sky done all the way up to the top of the pattern, although I still have some colours to fill in. Alison and James were here recently to visit and they saw it then. I've gotten a whole section done in the meantime and finally found my cable to download photos from the camera.
I haven't added any photos lately because my camera was broken. But, I've gotten it fixed (I hope!) And, I've done lots of stitching done. The underwater portion of the sub is done! Wohoo! I'm on the last of the pattern pages for the bottom half of the pattern and making progress on it. This photo was taken November 30, 2004. And yes, that is the FULL back of my chair in the photo (look sideways:) )!!
This photo was taken Sept 27th, 2004. I've gotten a lot of work done lately and the next section of sub is coming along nicely. I can't wait to get to the top sections!
This photo was taken on September 1, 2004. Yes, that finally is the yellow of the sub showing at the top!!! I'm now officially 1/4 finished. Phew! Hopefully I'll get more stitching time once the weather cools off.
This photo was taken July 11, 2004.
This is the sub on June 21, 2004. Due to a wrist injury, I haven't been able to do a lot of the area I was working on. But... necessity being the mother of invention, I did discover that I could work one-handed on the sky section using my floor stand.
I hope to get some photos taken of my completed projects shortly and will post them once I have them.
This is Queen Anne's Lace, which I have been working on off and on for four years now. In the meantime I've completed more than 10 wedding and birth announcements. Enough already folks!
